Alliance Rules
I. Administration
1) Each guild leader must be easy to contact, and must be able to respond within 24 hours after being contacted. This is the expectation under "normal" circumstances (not when the leader is on vacation out of town, for instance).
2) Each guild must be able to carry out disciplinary action against its members when the Alliance expresses a need for it.
(Note the use of "must be able to" rather than simply "must". This is an important distinction.)
3) Each guild must honor the Alliance Black List. This is a list of players who are banned from joining any guild in the Alliance.
4) Each guild is allowed to add players to the Alliance Black List when there is just cause. No guild is allowed to abuse the list.
5) Each guild leader and officer must register and be active on the Alliance forums, and they must encourage their guild members to register and be active on the forums as well.
II. Alliance Channel Chat
1) If a player asks for help in any capacity, others are NOT obligated to respond. (Note however that it is more courteous to respond, and courtesy will foster better relations. But it is not a rule.)
2) Offensive language, such as excessive swearing, racial and ethnic slurs, and strong personal attacks, is NOT allowed. It is up to the players present in-game to determine what is and isn't "excessive" and "strong." If there is no consensus then everyone must yield to the more conservative side.
3) Impersonal selling, buying, and price check requests are to be kept to an absolute minimum. "Party Chat" language such as "WTS" and "PC" is not allowed.
III. Behavior
1) In general, each player in the Alliance must work to maintain a good standing and clean reputation within the Guild Wars community.
a) Any in-game action that warrants being reported to NCSoft, such as overly offensive language in Local Chat, engaging in trade scams, etc., is not allowed.
b) Any Guild Wars community forum behavior that warrants moderation such as trolling, flaming, etc., is not allowed.
IV. Gameplay
1) Allies are to be accepted into parties before non-Allies except in extreme circustances.
a) Being of a non-ideal profession does not qualify as an extreme circumstance.
b) Being more than 3 levels lower than the next-lowest-level player in the party qualifies as an extreme circumstance.
c) Heroes and Henchmen are considered non-Allies in this case.
Note: this list of rules is a work in progress, and is subject to change pending further discussion by guild leadership/officers. |
